Key staff members must meet the following requirements:

- Invest a minimum of $500,000 in the B.C. operation
- Establish or purchase and expand an eligible business

Navigating the Strategic Projects Stream

- Explore Opportunities in B.C.: Senior executives representing the company are encouraged to visit B.C. to gain insights into the local business environment.
- Discuss Your Proposal: Before applying to the Strategic Projects stream, contact the BC PNP to discuss the business proposal.
- Register Your Interest: Complete the registration expressing your company’s interest in applying. Provide company details, proposed investment in B.C., and key staff qualifications. A registration processing fee of $300 applies.
- Receive Invitation to Apply: Upon reviewing the registration, if deemed eligible, the company will receive an invitation to apply. Submit a full application within 90 days.
- Submit Application to BC PNP: Compile all required forms and supporting documentation into a single application package. Application processing fees include $3,500 for the company and an additional $1,000 for each key staff proposed.
- Sign Performance Agreements: If the application is approved, sign a corporate Performance Agreement with the Province of B.C. Each key staff member must also sign a Performance Agreement.
- Submit Arrival Report: Receive a work permit support letter for each approved key staff member to apply for a work permit from IRCC. Key staff must arrive in B.C. within 180 days and submit an arrival report within 60 days.
- Establish Business & Nominate Key Staff: Submit a final report demonstrating compliance with the Performance Agreement terms. Key staff members meeting the conditions of their Performance Agreement will be nominated for permanent residence.
- Apply for Permanent Residence: Key staff members must submit their permanent residence application to IRCC within 180 days of nomination.
