Nova Scotia Experience: Express Entry

Designed for skilled workers with experience in occupations in demand in Nova Scotia. Express Entry stream, provided they have at least one year of experience in a National Occupational Classification (NOC) TEER category 0, 1, 2, or 3 positions. To qualify, candidates must also be between 21 and 55 years old, hold a Canadian high school diploma or its equivalent, demonstrate language proficiency in either English or French at Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) 7 for NOC TEER 0 and 1 positions, and CLB 5 for NOC TEER 2 and 3 positions. Additionally, applicants must register a profile in the federal government’s Canada Express Entry pool.

The Labour Market Priorities stream aims to target particular occupations for immigration in Nova Scotia. To qualify, candidates must first receive a Letter of Interest from the Nova Scotia Nominee Program within the Express Entry system. Additionally, they must meet the minimum work experience requirements for the Express Entry stream they have qualified for, demonstrate adequate funds to establish themselves and their family in Nova Scotia, cover immigration costs, and travel expenses, possess legal status in their current country of residence, and meet all eligibility criteria at the time of receiving the Letter of Interest.


Nova Scotia Labour Market Priorities For Physicians

The Nova Scotia Labour Market Priorities For Physicians stream enables the province to choose qualified doctors from the federal Express Entry pool. This stream focuses on two specific National Occupational Classification (NOC) codes: NOC 31102 for Family Physicians and NOC 31100 and 31101 for Specialist Physicians. To be eligible, candidates must have an approved job offer from either Nova Scotia Health Authority or the IWK Health Centre as a Family Physician or Specialist Physician, commit to residing and working in Nova Scotia for at least two years, receive a Letter of Interest from the NSNP through Express Entry, submit their application within 30 calendar days of the issue date of the Letter of Interest, meet the minimum work experience requirements of the Express Entry-linked program they have qualified for, demonstrate sufficient funds to settle themselves and their family in Nova Scotia, and possess legal status in their current country of residence.
